Getting Ready to Go
5:01 PM
Hola
So, my first post is not taking place in Costa Rica. I am putting up this first post to let everyone know how excited I am for my trip. I have received numerous e-mails from the Costa Rica Spanish Institute (COSI) about my trip. I have my information all set and I have even received an e-mail about my host family. I will be staying with a family in Quepos. There are two children, aged 16 and 14. I hope to learn a lot about what their teenage life is so that I can bring back this information to you all (and my students too)! Living with a family will not only help me use my Spanish everyday, but it will also help me learn more of their culture. It should be a rewarding experience!
I am pretty much all packed. I have a great book telling about Costa Rica and some places and things to do on the weekend. I have packed my rain jacket, since I will be down there in the "rainy" season, which means that it typically rains a little bit each day. I also made room for my hiking boots so that I can go hiking in the forrest.
Keep checking back to see about my adventures. I hope to have a lot to tell you about Costa Rica and my experiences.
