Playa Biesanz

¡Hola desde Costa Rica! Hello from Costa Rica.

My first question is, does anyone know how to kill a rooster? I did not get too much sleep this morning because a rooster woke me up at 4:20 am. It continued to crow every minute for almost an hour. If I find that rooster, he better fly away! ha ha ha

Other than that disturbance this morning, things here are going great. I´m learning so much in my classes. We focus a lot on the grammar of the language and building vocabulary. There are some differences in vocabulary between the Mexican and Spain Spanish I know and the Costa Rican Spanish I am learning. Little by little I am learning these words.

My lessons do not stop once I leave the school. I have also been speaking with Ticos, the people of Costa Rica. A lot of the Ticos are nice and will speak with me and explain different words I do not know. I think this is one of the most important parts of my day since I am surrounded by Spanish and I am forced to speak with others in thier language. I love it!

The beach has been great. Yesterday I went to Playa Biesanz, which is a small beach with very little tourists and a lot of Tico families. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk there from the school. You must go on a dirt road, both up and down hill, and then through a little path in the woods in order to reach the beach. It is worth it though when you can see the view and the water is warm and calm... no waves. You also do not have to be worried about people taking your things or that something will happen to you.

I may learn to surf today if the vendors are back on the beach. The police have been protolling the beach for vendors who have not paid a fee in order to sell stuff, therefore, the beach is pretty empty of the "tourist" stuff you can purchase. Also, the sky is overcast and I am not sure if I want to go all the way down just to have to turn around because of the rain.
